Who we are
Northumbrian Construction Ltd, trading under Northumbrian Windows Ltd, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website and in connection with our window, door, conservatory, sunroom and related home-improvement services. In data-protection terms, we are the data controller.
You can contact us at 7A Legion House, Beaufront Business Park, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 4TU; by telephone on 01434 601 882; or by email at david@northumbrianwindows.co.uk.
What information we collect
When you request a quote, contact us, arrange a survey, become a customer or opt in to marketing communications, we may collect your name, address or postcode, telephone number, email address, the service you are interested in, information you include about your project, appointment and quotation details, and records of communications with us.
We collect most of this information directly from you. Where necessary to provide a quotation, complete an installation or meet a legal obligation, we may also receive information from someone acting for you, such as a joint homeowner, or from a third party you have asked us to work with.
Why we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide quotations, arrange surveys and appointments, deliver contracted work, administer guarantees or aftercare, manage our records, protect our business and website, and meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.
We may also send occasional marketing communications about Northumbrian Windows products and services only where you have chosen to receive them or where another lawful basis permits it. Choosing not to receive marketing does not affect our ability to respond to your quote or contact request.
- Enquiries, quotations and pre-contract steps: legitimate interests and, where applicable, steps towards a contract.
- Installations, aftercare, warranties and customer service: performance of a contract and legal obligations where applicable.
- Business records, security and legal claims: legitimate interests and legal obligations where applicable.
- Optional email marketing: your consent where we ask for it, or another lawful basis where permitted by law.
Our legitimate interests include operating and protecting our home-improvement business, responding efficiently to genuine enquiries, improving our services and preventing misuse of our website or systems. We consider these interests against your rights and expectations.
Website enquiries, email and customer systems
When you submit a website enquiry, your details are used to respond to that enquiry and may be recorded in our customer relationship management system so that we can manage the quotation and follow-up process. The website currently uses Brevo for transactional email delivery and Pipedrive for enquiry and sales-process management.
If you expressly opt in to marketing communications, relevant contact information may be managed through Mailchimp and, where configured, synchronised with Pipedrive. A quote or contact request by itself is not intended to be treated as consent to marketing.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only where necessary. Recipients may include hosting and website-support providers, email-delivery and customer-relationship-management providers, professional advisers, payment or finance providers where you separately choose to use them, installers or suppliers involved in delivering your project, and public authorities or regulators where the law requires this.
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we will use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law and can provide further information on request.
Marketing choices
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by using an unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by contacting us at david@northumbrianwindows.co.uk. We will still need to retain and use limited information where necessary to respond to an active enquiry, perform a contract, comply with the law or keep an accurate record of your marketing preference.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use strictly necessary cookies to operate securely and remember essential functions. It may also use analytics or measurement technologies to understand how visitors use the website and improve its performance. Where non-essential cookies are used, they should be controlled through the website’s cookie choices or your browser settings.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. This may include the time needed to respond to an enquiry, provide a quotation, perform a contract, provide aftercare or warranty support, meet tax, accounting or legal obligations, or deal with a complaint or potential claim.
Marketing contact details are retained until you withdraw consent or we determine the information is no longer needed. We review retention periods periodically and securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing (including direct marketing), and receive certain information in a portable form. You may also withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at david@northumbrianwindows.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Details are available at ico.org.uk.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes to our services, website or legal obligations. The current version will always be available on this page.
